Stupid reasons to argue in DotA
Defence of the Ancients, also known as DotA, has garnered a rather negative impression from many non-players. But most players can't survive a day without DotA. It has taken a life of it's own since debuting in Singapore many years back. However some things about DotA have not changed, like how every match will have some guy losing his temper and venting it on his teammates. I shall now share with you, in no particular order, the dumbest reasons to argue in DotA.
1) Arguing over who gets to solo. To non DotA players. Soloing a "lane" yields you more xp and gold, which you can use to strengthen your character. Human nature dictates that many players will want this advantage, and a good 20% of DotA players MUST solo a lane, or they will threaten to leave the game. Another 30% will get all vulgar if anyone else tries to solo a lane, occassionally involving their family members.
2) Blaming a player for not helping him when he gets ganged. Another stupid reason. Life lesson #1, don't expect people to help you if you can't help yourself. I have been yelled at by many players for not helping them when they are ambushed by the enemy team. By ambush, i mean 4 players targeting 1 hero. 4 > 2 , enough said.
3) Kill stealing. The main reason for 90% of the conflicts in not only DotA, but in other games. Usually, kill stealing is accidental. However, there are some bastards who live to kill steal, but that's an entirely different story. What i'm talking about is the annoying player who blames people for taking his kill when they help him, and blames them for not helping him when they don't.
4) Lag. Lag is everywhere. But in DotA, lag sparks the deadliest of flame wars. Be it the host, the player with a shitty connection, or some PRC from China. Anyone who lags will not be spared by the players in that game. An extremely vulgar combination of mothers, genitals and the F-bomb will be dropped upon that player. If the host is the lagger, God save him. He will be publicly named and disgraced in the channel chat of Garena, and most probably will be verbally abused by the other players in that game. If he's the typical internet ah beng, expect a flame war. If not, expect more "XXXXXXXX IS A NOOB DOG!"
TBC.
